What is a good way to study the Bible by the culture of the time and ???

I love to "study" things in depth and I love getting answers about the Bible from those of you who know it back to the hebrew translation and also the culture of the times seems to shed great light on it. HOw would I go about starting this study. thanks

What is a good way to study the Bible by the culture of the time and ???
The best way to study the bible is to burn it in petrol,

then breathe in the smoke and almost immediately

you will begin to have visions of angels and fairies

Some people believe this is a vision of heaven

Reply:You might download the Free e-Sword software along with the Barnes Notes on the Bible commentary from the link on the Free Stuff page @ http://web.express56.com/~bromar/

There are a lot of other links there to help you with your studies too. The e-Sword program comes with the KJV with Strong's numbers so that when you run your mouse pointer over the number a small pop up window appears giving you the original Greek or Hebrew word along with a short definition.
Reply:A good way to study the bible is by topic. Example the term end of days. By useing a reference examine the scriptures that have that term in them. Also a study of the contex to verify what is being said is true to your topic.
Reply:get a parallel bible (with the original language next to the translation) and a good bible commentary, (i prefer the ones that are divided up into the individual books, they have more in them) that will give you the history and cultural context you desire

both can be found at any christian book store.
