A study bible has references to other scripture that help explain what you are reading. Some have small commentary articles also.

Study bibles cost more.

And come with pre defined doctrine and opinions already created for you. Less thinking and confusion required.
Reply:A study Bible has a good concordance and possibly other helps as well as maps, etc. There are several to choose from in the Christian book store. My favorite is the NIV Archaeological Study Bible. It's really terrific and is LOADED with information!%26lt;%26gt;%26lt;

God bless!
Reply:They have a study guide on the side. It usually features crappy notes and stuff.
Reply:Study Bibles have TONS of references and things at the bottom.

They will help you soooo much.

It's like having someone whispering in your ear explaining stuff as you go along that you don't understand. It's great. Really.
Reply:I take a regular bible, and with gel pens I turn it into a study bible, from 2003, I have studied seven [ 7 ], KJV bibles with the navy blue cover. I study other translations also. I get acquainted with every person in the bible and his time period, write his birth year and death year on the pages.
Reply:Study Bibles Are more in depth with Commentaries, and backgrond info on a given passage
Reply:Study Bibles have comments about the verses at the bottom of the page.
Reply:a study bible may have insight about some verses.
Reply:They have scholar footnotes and theyre fantastic!!
Reply:A study bible has comments and scripture break downs concerning what you are reading. It also has references to other scriptures that talk about the same thing.
Reply:A regular Bible is just the Scriptures. comes in hadny for a person that really likes to study and compare his/her own notes.

A Study Bible has different references like where a Scripture was said or used before, or certain principles in one spot used or said in another. Some have greek and hebrew word definitions which really come in handy for those hard to figure out Scriptures and phrases. Some have a Daily Devotional that you can follow to keep you on a certain track in your studies as well as even a study guide for keeping on track of principles. Most have a combination of all the above. Watch out for those that are way to denominational. Meaning it wants to teach a certain churches belief instead of being objective and just let The Bible Speak for Itself.

Hope that helps out and God Bless you as He guides you into His Truth.
