Bible study help. Were can I get a book or something to help me cover the bible? There is so much to cover in
Is there are Bible for Dummies or Complete Idiot's Guide to the Bible. Those kind of books are really helpful and easy to follow. When I moved out of my parents, my Mom got me Cooking for Dummies.
Reply:The best way to do this would be to find a bible with an index. In this way you could look up subjects at random, or cross check them when you come upon them during reading. Unfortunately, I know of no bible printed today that contains an index (mine was printed in 1954).

I suggest you start with understanding the bible overall:

Then use this link for intensive study:

Reply:http://www.biblegateway.com/resources/re... has study plans.

Buy a Life Application Study Bible it gives you the who, when, where and why of the books of the bible. Study the New Testament first.
Reply:There is a book called "Who's Who and Where's Where in the Bible" by Stephen M. Miller. It is an awesome book that gives summary's of every person and place in the Bible . It has really helped me and it is set up in alphabetical order so it 's easy to find what you are looking for and get an overview of each event and book in the Bible. Also, there are daily study guides that are helpful also.
Reply:Best to cover your bible is to use a blanket.
Reply:There is a king James Version Bible That is a study Bible. It is a regular bible, but throughout whatever scriptures you are reading there will be small numbers above a sentence. These numbers can be found at the bottom of the page you are on. It will reference you to one or more other scriptures throughout the Bible. It will send you back and forth throughout the Bible and tie the scriptures together to help you better understand the scripture that you are reading.
Reply:YOU COULD STUDY THAT BOOK FOREVER AND STILL NOT KNOW EXACTLY WHAT WAS ORIGINALLY MEANT...THOSE WHO TRANSLATE IT FOR YOU ALSO DO NOT KNOW....IT IS A.....SAY WHAT? BOOK DELIBERATELY ... AND ALOT OF WRONG WORDING FROM TRANSLATING IT.. CLOSE IT....YOU LL LEARN MUCH MORE FROM LIFE.
Reply:Don't bother with the bible. If you truly want to read something enlightening, check out "Conversations with God". You won't be disappointed and you may even thank me later. It could be considered the new gospel if you approach it with an open mind.

Peace and Love!
Reply:The bible is predominantly a work of fiction. I know you will scoff at this but.. do the research. I did.
Reply:classic Christianity is an excellent book. The web site below has many resources.
Reply:There are many online Bibles with the possibility of searching them. Why you don't study those?

Please, chant Hare Krishna and be happy.

Type in and visit "bhaktivedanta108" the first site in the google result.
Reply:my guide is if too hard to do, its in the bible. if its not then you will regret it but its fun..
Reply:Why not read it, instead of looking elsewhere?
Reply:I just read the new testament twice then read over the old testament once. As a christian you only need to concern yourself with the New testament, then when you get a good understanding of how to live as a christian then move on to the old testament to get an understanding of the Law that our faith is built on.
Reply:The Bible is a big, dense book. I recommend this one:

Reply:I have a lot of sites I could give you, but I will post just a few. If you want more, contact me.

At this site it looks like you need to buy the commentaries, but you don't. Just click on the name of the commentary and it will get you to another screen where you can read from it.

Hope this helps.
Reply:Try Clarks Commentary, or your local Zondervon book store.
Reply:Bible study is very important, as there is background information that many people today do not know. I think the Old Testament is just as important as the new. I finally took the Bethal Bible Study, a 2-year study that covers both Testaments. There are online study groups too. Tossing around ideas with other people who are searching is really handy, and you can learn a lot from them. If you really want to do it yourself there are a ton of good bible guides. Do a search for Bible Guide or Bible Reference on Amazon.com and you'll see a bunch. I have 3 or 4 bible references (some inherited from my parents).

Reply:Almost every city will have a "family christian bookstore" look up the closest to you. Everyone of those store will have a section devoted to bible study, study aids, and student bibles. Even the "for dummies" series has one for bibles. Many of the student bibles come with quick reference tabs, addtional "homework" questions, Jesus' words highlighted in red...etc.
Reply:If you want a quick overview of the whole Bible, you could try

67 messages, 1 for each book of the Bible plus 1 message for the so called "silent years"

However, remember that nothing can substitute the real, patient and prayerful studying of the Bible, page-by-page, verse-by-verse, focussing on (but not being limited to) the New Testament. God bless you.
Reply:There are concordances which can help you. You can try www.studylight.org. www.esword.org is also a good website.
Reply:How about visiting a Bible bookstore or go online - typing in @ Bible study - cover to cover.
Reply:NASB and Holman Bible Dictionary has helped me a lot with my Bible Studies. I, also, use Coffman Commentary. You do have to be careful with commentaries though. It is their opinion of what they think the scriptures are saying. I use a notebook as I study to write down my understanding of the scripture and scriptures to do research on. Last but not least, pray to God for guidance and understanding as you read. I hope I helped you a little. Happy studying. :)
Reply:The book, What Does The Bible Really Teach published by Jehovah's Witnesses is a great place to start. It gives you the basic milk of the Bible and you can use whatever copy of the Bible you have to look up the scriptures and find out for yourself. There is no cost whatsoever for the book but if you wish, you can make a modest donation to cover the cost of printing.
Reply:"Calvary Chapel" churches are very good at teaching the Bible book by book with a lot of cultural and historical references, I don't think there's any doctrinal issues here as to say any denomination or christian group would benefit from these teachings. I went to their church sometimes and that's the way they preach through the Bible book by book and I learned a lot. (I don't belong here but my mother does). Anyway I found a link that you can use (audio) and study on line book by book as you follow your "The Bible in a year plan" Try it, I think it will bless you.

This site has lots of classic bible commentaries from different teachers on every book, it's very complete:

Reply:read four verses each day and you will finish it in a year, dat is how it is been divided but you must not miss a day
Reply:log onto tomorrowsworld.org and request their Bible Study Course... Its free, distributed worldwide and takes you step by step right through your bible. There is no better course than this one in my experience, a real eyeopener and very insightful
Reply:The BIBLE cover itself!!! Don't care for anything else!!!
Reply:Jehovah's Witnesses offer free of charge hundreds of books, brochures, and so forth - Bible-study aids to help you understand Bible truth. If you would like to receive a publication, please contact Jehovah's Witnesses at the local Kingdom Hall. Or visit http://www.watchtower.org

Jehovah's Witnesses also offer free home Bible studies. The worldwide work of Jehovah's Witnesses is supported by voluntary donations.
Reply:Find a good Study Bible. The two best I have seen are the N I V Study Bible (not the "T" N I V) and the RYRIE Study Bible-Expanded Edition (it comes in NIV,KJV, or NASB versions), cost about $35-70. There are others. Then start with a one volume or two volume commentary like "the Bible Knowledge Commentary" by John Walvoord and Roy Zuck.

Foe serious Bible study, I mean serious study for those who can NOT do Greek and Hebrew, look for a "Precept Bible Study" class in your area. Many bigger churches host these studies. There may be a small fee (like $25) to cover the material. If you complete those studies-you really will not need a commentary.

You can look up www.precept.org and find a church near you that will have the classes. Precept works in all denominations.
