What are some good craft ideas for a bible study class from ages 2-7?

i can think of several but what you really need to do is do a websearch and you gan get not ony the ideas for this one but material lists and detailed directions on doing themmm... loads of great stuff out there ... try to start a search on like "crafts for bible school"

What are some good craft ideas for a bible study class from ages 2-7?
We do alot of picture frames and coloring pages... Mostly with younger kids.
Reply:how about making a coat of many colours you could do a big one for all the class or individual small ones if you draw and cut them out the kids can rip up that sticky back coloured paper and stick it on like Mosaic
Reply:We use foam craft sheets a lot with our 3 %26amp; 4 year olds. They make good picture frames, magnets, etc. Be sure to use foam glue as craft glue takes a LONG time to dry. Also we used paper plates to make Daniel %26amp; the lions den lion masks (yarn, paper plates with holes punched, elastic bands to hold on head), paper plate mail holders (cut 1 plate in half and attach at bottom of plate 1 with glue, punch holes through both plates and 'sew' together with yarn, attach a hanger %26amp; decorate).

How early do you get up to have devotion and bible study with the Lord in the morning?

It's a great thing to start the day off with God's word even if it's one bible verse or passage.

How early do you get up to have devotion and bible study with the Lord in the morning?
It varies from day to day. For some reason I came to the computer first this morning, and I really should go and do my devotions.

God bless you Russell, I hope your outlook is better today. In Christ's love...

BTW- you are still in my contacts ((((((Russell K.)))))))

Has anyone completed the Greek portion of Bible study from FRSB in California; Associates Degree Course?

I received the Greek 101 C workbook and I am a little lost with it and would like some guidance, or even better if I could see the completed workbook itself. I completed workbook A and workbook B, but I can't seem to grasp what C is saying. If there is anything anyone can do to help I will be blessed. It's all Greek to me!! (LOL)

Has anyone completed the Greek portion of Bible study from FRSB in California; Associates Degree Course?
I wish I could help you, but I don't understand Greek. Can you call someone in the Languages Dept. at a college near you?

I am doing a study for bible study and I want to know how do Leviathan and King Triton connected?

I was studying out different things and I was informed that another name for the demon Leviathan is Triton. Among some other similarities. I was thinking about the obvious Triton that we all know and it struck a cord with me. It is quite similar but it is hard to find a direct tie between Leviathan and King Trion in one writing. Disney is disney and there aren't too many other writings on the actual history of how this character was created.

I am doing a study for bible study and I want to know how do Leviathan and King Triton connected?
Actually Triton was a "lesser" greek God.

He is a sea God and I'm sure that is the connection in Disney's movie (which was actually an adaptation of a Hans Christian Anderson story. Hans is the one who first used Triton.)

What would be a good Bible study on servanthood?

I need one for my high school youth group.

What would be a good Bible study on servanthood?
Read some of Jesus' parables. They have good examples.

Also, the story where Jesus washed his disciples feet. This is is a VERY good example.

Where can I find 20 copies of "The Everyday Guide to the Proverbs " for a bible study?

Been on line for over six hours and am at my wit's end. I have one copy that was given to me by a friend in the states. It was published by Barbour Publishing Inc. (2005) and is a softcover. ISBNI - 59310 727 7. Even tried ebay, but can only get one copy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try CBD.

Reply:Ask at your local public library. Perhaps the staff can get them for you through Interlibray Loans. This,of course, depends on whether or not other libraries have this book on their shelves. It's worth a try, and, in most cases free or for a small fee.

Any suggestions on starting a teen/college age bible study?

Myself and a friend feel that God is leading us to start a bible study with our peers as we begin to make the transition between high school and college (most people will be between the ages of 16-22) and to help us become better witnessess. The main focus of this group is witnessing to this lost and dying world. Any resources, book suggestions, topics, prayers, or etc will be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your time and God Bless!!

Any suggestions on starting a teen/college age bible study?
If you're in college/highschool you should be focused on drugs and sex, not religion!
Reply:This is a wonderful idea. And God has given you a vision that can do alot for people. The important thing is not not loose focus. And also not to loose your vision. Sometimes people will try and take away what God has given you to birth. Keep having your bible study even if nobody show up. Cause somedays that will happen. But try to do things with each other outside of Bible study at least once a month. Yall sometimes pick days to fast and pray. Yall choose a book for three months to discuss. Alot of things yall can do. It's just important for you to keep focus.
Reply:"Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair it is a disgrace to him, but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For her hair is given to her as a covering." (1 Corinthians 11:13-15)

Don't believe in that crap please.
Reply:COngratulation, I think that you really have the desire to serve God, but don't let anyone stop you, especially the way life is in college.

I will suggest that you pray intesely on this subject and Ask God for strenght and courage because you will have to confront strong peer pressure and lack of interest from other teens.

Many teens on campus forget if they were christian on Campus because they live according to the desire of this world.

if you have any question, you can contact me at kantav18@yahoo.com, because I am actually thinking of Joining a Bible study in my college. I will be very happy to help you, because I am a christian who want to live faithfully, just like you guys are doing, but there is a lot temptation.

Be strong
Reply:Take time to fellowship and encourage one another. Work the Bible study into that. Occasionally, go out and witness with each other, so that others can keep an eye, in case things go extremely wrong. Satan does attack sometimes, so it's good to work in groups when possible. Way of the Master is a pretty good evangelism class. You can get books, DVD's, CD's, and gospel tracts from them. Way of the Master was started by Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron.
Reply:From my personal studies, myself and many renowned scholars have reached the conclusion that the Bible (mainly Old Testament) is actually a history of the creation of humanity about 50,000 years ago with extraterrestrial aid. Just an FYI if you're going to be studying the bible.
Reply:seek god, just take the time to listen because sometimes he has something to say. just take at least 30 minutes of your time or more if needed to listen to him and pray.

I think it sounds like a GREAT idea!

I think you should have the ages between 14-22 because kids just entering high school tend to feel more rebelious than the older ones sometimes. at least thats how i was

let them know what the sinful things are but dont EVER forget to include the amazing things god does for us. We are MADE unworthy but we dont have to be that way. thats why jesus died for EVERYONE so that god can forgive no matter how often we may turn against him. we are all gods children Christian or not. and if you are atheist, agnostic, or whatever and dont know him... God says you WILL know him... whether you like it or not =]

p.s good luck to you! i will pray for this bible study and to hope that you may change lives through the word of god! PRAISE GOD!
Reply:Begin with evolution vs creation.

Watch shows called Answers in Genesis and Creation Today...both on internet. They will get nonbelievers thinking that scientists are blind to much evidence of creation and at least make them begin to think.

What are the differences between bible dictionaries, commentaries and study bibles?

I am not sure which I should get to help me learn more about the bible. Can someone tell me the features of all three? Thanks.

What are the differences between bible dictionaries, commentaries and study bibles?
Bible dictionary - gives definition of Biblical terms

Commentary - gives a persons interpretation of scripture, bringing in cultural and historical references and highlighting figurative language.

Study Bible - several kinds. Chain reference links related verses through thre Bible. Thematic Bibles link themes.

You left out

Concordance. - this gives you translations and definitions in original language

Inter-Linear Bible - shows you the Greek/Hebrew beside the English

Parrallel Bible - shows verses in multiple translations
Reply:A Bible dictionary has all the people, locations, rituals and that sort of thing in it and describes them in detail. It is not actually the Bible itself. Commentaries are just books and short topics from well known authors that are writing about certain sections in the Bible. The study Bible is the Bible in regular form. At the bottom of each page there is helpful information that answers questions you might have about some of the verses. It tells who the author of each book of the Bible is if it's known. It also tells when each book was written and to who. It gives very useful background information helping you better understand the full scope of the Bible. Study Bibles are very useful. I use the New Living Translation. The language is very modern. There is also New International Version and several other very modern versions.

Reply:A Bible dictionary will focus on specific terms and words, assuming you have a lot of knowledge already.

A Biblical encyclopedia will be more helpful. There you can look up people, places, events, and the book will explain what they are and how they fit into the whole.

A commentary would probably be a cross between the two - it will take a specific book of the Bible and comment upon its origin, meaning, editing, etc. It's probably going to be over your head and pretty boring, until you have a lot more knowledge.

A study bible is good. This is a bible that is written in modern English and contains explanations in it. (The Living Bible is a good one!)

If I were you, just beginning, I would get a copy of the Living Bible or other good study bible, and then also a good encyclopedia. I have one called "Bible Facts" by Jenny Roberts. It's good, but it's published by Barnes and Noble, so you'd have to get it through them (they have a good web site store). I also have a collection of commentaries by Isaac Asimov (yes, the famous sci-fi writer was a Christian). They are more involved, so you want to wait for that. But they are excellent!

In need of help with family tree chart ideas for my Bible study class!?

My assignment is to make a family tree for Abraham and Sarah and for some reason I am having a hard time coming up with a style or chart that will work for this . Does any one have any ideas? Thank you !

In need of help with family tree chart ideas for my Bible study class!?
I would design the chart to look like the night sky. Make Abraham and Sarah large stars and their offspring/ancestors "shooting stars" off from them. This would follow the idea that they were told that their descendants would.... number the starts in the sky.

If conservatives want more pray and bible study in schools?

Why don't they take there kids to Sunday School or are they too lazy to teach their kids at home?

If conservatives want more pray and bible study in schools?
I don't see why these rich conservatives can't just open a private school where they do that--I don't want my kids to go to a public school where they can't choose what faith to follow.
Reply:If muslims can have foot baths installed in schools so they can pray, christians should be allowed to pray without liberal intolerance. Remember, freedom of religion, not freedom as long as it is not christian.
Reply:I think they already do take them.
Reply:I went to a private Christian school. So on top of paying my tuition my parents also paid taxes which went to public schools.
Reply:I don't know many Christians who want Bible Study in schools as a curriculum or "organized" prayer...most are just afraid of having their rights trampled on, while some schools are teaching Islamic culture and Evolution, which is a religious belief (whether you like it or not)...we don't really like paying tax dollars to fund anti-Christian activities.
Reply:I don't think it should be taught, but if students want to organize prayer meetings, what's the big deal? No one is forced to attend, so I don't see how that could possibly be offensive.

Freedom of religion doesn't mean freedom *from* religion.
Reply:Private Christian schools do not pay taxes just as religious institutions do not pay taxes. Locally schools are supported by local property taxes. Surely those who choose to send their children to any form of private school receive other benefits from paying taxes---roads, public health, environmental controls, military protection, etc.

They probably do take their children to Sunday School they want to brainwash your children at public expense!
Reply:Who is saying this? Again, are you inferring that only conservatives want God in their lives, and that liberals are all godless?

How do I get started with bible study?

I am 13, and want to do some bible study. I don't really have any friends that would be intersted in doing this with me, so I'm basically on my own. I have no clue where to start! I have the NIV Backpack Bible. (No, it's not a little kiddie bible). This bible has the words of Christ in red, and then a readers help section; which has things like, what to read if you - are lonely, jealous, angry, desire to learn how to pray, etc. Then a "Promises From The Bible" section. Both of these give you verses to do with the subject. So I have my bible, and a highlighter, I am all set! Where to start?

Thanks so much in advance!

How do I get started with bible study?
You might consider reading the book of John. It gives you a more intimate protrayal of Jesus.

I just start at the beginning of the Bible and read through, however, you might like to look up verses on certain subjects you are interested it and see how God leads you in those areas.

I would strongly suggest you read the Proverbs - great advice for all believers. I commend you for your commitment and I'm sure God will speak to you in His Word. Do it every day and don't forget to pray!!!!
Reply:I would start with one of the gospels. Just read and write down your thoughts.

Pray for God to guide you.

Blessings and good luck!
Reply:Studying the bible can be vary confusing, I am a catholic and have studied theology, and I still haven't been able to understand it, you can put so many different interpretations to it that it will give you a headache, I would recommend though the new Jerusalem bible that is the new testament, and don't let others tell you to start with the old testament because it is even more confusing, enjoy your study and pray to your spirit guides for guidance, may God bless you.
Reply:Most "Bible studies" only pick out the warm n' fuzzy parts. So I say start at the beginning, and read it cover to cover, even if in the places where it realy drags. It puts it in context. Keep notes on not only the parts you find moving, but the parts that don't seem to add up, seem shocking, or don't really make sense. Then perhaps, like me, you'll see just how over overrated it is. Good luck!

2. rest of new testament

3 old testament

in between, stop and pick any topic that interests you

i am proud of you....be blessed
Reply:As a new student of the Bible start with the Book of John. And you did well to get the NIV version, it is a great help. In addition to the materials that you already have, go to a good web site like www.intouch.org it is very helpful in Bible studies. It will help you with ideas of what and how to study. God bless you in all you do.
Reply:If you want to know about God, ask God. Pray and read the bible. Look especially close to the parts in red!

If you want to know about Church, ask people who run the church. Join a bible group, that way you can learn exactly how SOMEONE ELSE interprets the word that God speaks to you. Having someone interpret the word of God to you is introducing a middleman, a person, who - just like you - is fallable and makes mistakes.

Use your heart and your mind and God as your guide my friend.
Reply:I would start with Mathew and read about Jesus and his teachings, and then go to Genesis and continue. In the meantime, I hope someone comes to your door and offers you a free bible study. Pray to God for understanding. You are so young and innocent, God is looking for people like you.
Reply:...please check this web site...it has daily devotionals for teens....just check the "teen" button after filling out the simple email form so you will be sent a daily devotional via email...it could be a good guide for your study...God Bless

Reply:First off, I'd recommend going to your (youth) pastor, and asking him about, for example, help in developing your study program, whether or not he would be interested in starting a bible study group within the church, or any existing bible study groups. See if that helps at all!
Reply:Go to jsm.org and order a bible study on most any book in the bible. Acts is a good place for Christians to start.
Reply:First of all Taylor God bless you for wanting to be involved in God's word. Many Christian churches have teen programs which include Bible Study. I would first find a local church which you can join, if you haven't. It's good to have a small group as you learn a lot that way and make great friends. If you study on your own also, first pray for guidance that the Lord will give you enlightenment on what you're reading. When I started out I found the Psalms in the Old Testament and the Gospel of John as a good start. One thing I recently learned is at the end of your day, read a psalm or chapter in the Bible and see if anything in your day is related to what you read. I'm sure you'll do great.
Reply:Taylor Rae, you have embarked on one of the most fascinating studies of your life. Simply begin at the front of the book and read through - but only read small sections at a time so you can think about what you are reading. It's a book that can be read on many levels. Spiritual, of course, but also historical and societal. Many aspects of the bible are shared with other religions, so it isn't all dogma by any means.

There are doubts about who authored parts of the new Testament, most of which appears to have been written a couple of hundred years after the events that were recounted. That means it was likely oral history during that time, and as you know, things change when people pass them by word of mouth from one to another -- so some parts of the Testament don't agree with others, and that could be one reason.

In any case, there is some beautiful language in the Bible, and you will enjoy reading it, and thinking on what you have read.

Good luck on the journey you are about to undertake.
Reply:People that make comments like throw it away are quite idiotic. So you dont believe in the Bible, so what. I bet you same people would scream bloody murder if a school thought about burning or throwing out classic books because of controversial content, yet you advocate doing it to a book you dont agree with. The Bible, even if you dont agree with its doctrine, is a signifigant piece of literary history which has been read by more people thruout history then anything else. If you really pride yourself on being a well rounded educated openminded person then you would read it, if for any other reason then to read one of the most influential historical pieces of work. Do you advocate burning or throwing away greek mythology? You have much more deep rooted resentment and hatred then you realize if you wish a book completely destroyed simply because you dont believe in what it says.
Reply:First of all you should pray that God gives you understanding

of His Word.

For a beginner, I suggest you start in the Gospel of John.

Then read all of the New Testament.

Then read the Old Testament.

You will be amazed.

Don't be afraid to ask questions.
Reply:John is a good place to start in the new testament

and if you will look in your bible you will find a read the bible in a year, and gives you places to read, but being that you are just getting started the new testament will be good. Its a good thing you are doing and dont let other yell you other wise ,as you know you will get bashed on here for that but oh well let them bash you,you will come out on top. god Bless you
Reply:at the beginning or revelation

i like Bibles with footnotes that help us understand...mine is a NRSV life applicat Bible...its wonderful
Reply:Of course I would always advize bible study but you're only young and most Christians your age tend to make it up as they go along, which is fine until you're 16. Don't worry and just go with life's flow, as Jesus taught us.
Reply:I started in Revelations and I bounced around alot at your age. I finally did read all of it and I commend you for wanting to learn so early. Get your self a concordance and a lexicon to help you on your way. Don't let people discourage you and always pray for guidance. You will have many questions along the way just take your time and you will get your answers from above.
Reply:Seeing no one is truly answering your question(other than GRNLOW) I will. If you are interested in having an in depth study of the bible absolutely free at your home, go to this website. www.watchtower.org. All the way to your right underneath "browse" you'll see "Would you welcome a free home bible study?" Click "yes", fill out the required area and click "submit". Congratulations, you just made one of the wisest decisions you will ever make.:)
Reply:It depends somewhat on what you're trying to learn. For instance, Christians will probably tell you to concentrate on the New Testament, for obvious reasons. The Old Testament is interesting from a historical standpoint, though, so perhaps that's more important.

At any rate, here's how I (an atheist) approached it. I started with the intent of just reading it cover to cover. That hasn't quite worked out, because typically I find some point of interest that I'd rather study for awhile, and that leads to various other points in the Bible. I'm not done yet, but here are my "tips" so far:

1) Get a Study Bible. Mine is NIV, which is pretty easy to read, and the study notes are actually pretty helpful (if you want to understand everything from a Christian point of view). The maps and charts are nice as well, as they summerize things like who married/begot whom, where people traveled, and so on.

2) Learn how to use the cross-reference system and the Concordance. These are useful if you're reading a particular verse and you want other biblical verses that support or elaborate it.

3) Take notes. Write stuff in the margins of the Bible if you want, or use little sticky-notes or flags to mark important passages. There are a lot of things to remember in the Bible, and taking notes will help you later on.

4) Ask questions. You can find lots of answers on the internet.

5) If you're interested in the key points of Christianity, read John and Romans first, then the first few books of the OT. Otherwise, just go from front to back and jump around as you see fit. Personally, I wanted to understand the OT before I dealt with Christ, but that's just me.

Like you, I don't really have any friends who care to go through this with me (my wife is religious, and even she gives me odd looks as I highlight stuff in the Bible...go figure), but I've made a few new friends (...and some enemies...) just asking questions and continuing discussions over e-mail. Keeps things interesting, however you look at it.

Anyway, have fun. Regardless of your beliefs, it's an interesting read.
Reply:You can start with topical studies. Read the passages on the various emotions you mentioned it has notes on and study them. Then ask yourself if that is an area that you need to work on in your life. You may also want to do some more in depth studies if you do let me know and I will refer you to several excellent websites that will help you grow in knowledge of the Word of God.

May you be blessed in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Reply:Start in Genesis so that as you read on you will know the order of how things happened, when they were first introduced, and why things are/were done. The Bible isn't an easy read my any means, so try and find someone that's willing to study with you. Just remember that if you ever go to a congregation, don't take what they say as the truth, make sure you can read it for yourself in the bible.

If you don't want to read the Old Testiment a great place to start is in Matthew. From there you will see the introduction of Christ and what he tought. You'll also find the ways to be saved and the commandments you'll need to live a christian life. Just remember that as you read, your going to encounter alot of this that contradict what the world teaches us. Hopefully you'll realize that the Bible is God's inspired word and you have to follow the commandments it gives in the New Testiment to make to heaven. It's going to take some time though, so be patient.

%26gt; How do I get started with bible study?

.
Reply:start in john then read start ing in genesis all the way thruogh the bible
Reply:Start with the "Beatitudes," the first chapters of Matthew. That is where Jesus preached to us all. In those verses lies love, joy, and a peaceful philosophy for the ages. It may inspire you enough to share selected quotes at needed times with others.
Reply:Start with Hosea chapter 13, after that, you should have read all you want to of the Bible with the aim of getting "faith" out of it. Honestly, I will be kinder than most here...dont start reading it to believe it because there is so much bad and hurt in that book. You will live a much more fulfilling life if you are free of the religious delusion. It IS however VERY important you read the bible all the way through, since so many literary and theatrical themes and motifs come from it. You will also miss out on much of the beauty in life if you do not know the bible.
Reply:Remove any sort of independent and rational thought in your brain.
Reply:Burn the Bible! Believe me, it has it coming. Besides, it is more beneficial to your mental health to read its ashes than it in its actual form.

What are good ideas for bible study groups that lasts tuesdays and ends at first bell in school?
This appears to be a morning Bible Study group. I would suggest handing out a sheet of paper with a list of 25 to 50 topics and ask your class to mark the ten best topics of interest and go from there in your organization.
Reply:Well.....

What age group are we talking about here?

That would dictate to me what to study

I'm looking for a Church of Christ bible study for beginners, who happen to be senior citizens?

This is the Church of Christ that is found in West Texas, and Texas in general.

GO TO THE PARSONAGE.....THEY WILL WELCOME YOU
Reply:Check to see if the local congregation has the Jule Miller film strip that you could borrow. It is now available on VHS and DVD.

This is an excelent series that teaches a good overview of the Bible in a series of about 6 lessons.

Also there are several good correspondance cources available that could be used as a basis for a study, or the students could use them to take the course on their own.

You could just open the Bible and just teach about the beginning of the church (Acts 2), or a simulair subject.

There is also a good DVD out now called "Searching for Truth". If the local congregation does not have it, e-mail me or write to Talladega Church of Christ, 416 East Street N., Talladega, AL 35160 They will be happy to send you a free copy. It contains 6 lessons.

What are some really fun activities and teaching things to do in a preschool bible study?

you mean brainwashing activities?

What are some really fun activities and teaching things to do in a preschool bible study?
I taught Sunday School for seven years. We always started with a bit of play time, where the teachers could get to know the kids, we played with blocks or play dough. Then we went to action songs. We had a small repetoire but the kids loved it because they were familiar. (Try using 'The Music Machine' and you can make up your own actions). Then we told a story using props. My favorite was having the kids sit in a circle on a blue bed sheet while we told the story of Moses in the Bullrushes. I brought in a doll and a basket and had the kids act out the story as we went along. After the story, we coloured a picture or did a craft related to the story. There are a lot of good websites that give craft ideas or pictures you can print out. Search Bible story coloring pages online. That might help out. Have fun!
Reply:Make a banner for your bible study group using pieces of felt made like children. One child for each one in your study group. "The Children of God"

How do I link Remembrance Sunday with Bible Study?

I'm planning to lead a small section of bible class, but am struggling to follow on from last week. Any help?

How do I link Remembrance Sunday with Bible Study?
Pray and go ahead. Always prepare yourself. I teach Sunday School and always type my notes, then the lesson flows. If at first you don't succeed then try again.

When you can, always include something on salvation. It is very important to win souls (Ephesians 2:8).

All the best.

How do you lead/teach a Bible study?

I use a very expository approach rather than a topical approach. I believe this is more effective since it deals with the actual passage. I also LEAD and TEACH a Bible study rather than start the class by saying "So, anybody have an opinion on this passage?" I believe that effective Bible study requires the leader to be an effective expositor and teacher.

How do you lead/teach a Bible study?
I do the same thing but I like to open it up to discussion, I find that I receive more insight into the scriptures, that way.
Reply:Yes, I believe that a Bible study needs a strong leader.

I work for Teen Challenge Uk, and within my role there, I teach, but allow students to ask questions and say how a certain Scripture might mean to them personally. However,

particularly in my setting, I have to be very much the leader,

because I am dealing with new Christians.
Reply:I do not lead or teach the bible study I start with a prayer to the Father for his wisdom and understanding and let the Holy Spirit lead and teach all of us that attend the bible study. The Father is a far better teacher than any human and so if it a human doing the leading it is a human teaching and not from God the Father Almighty. That is the problem with most all churches today they are following man and not God. You need all three in your study. The Father, the Holy Spirit, and Jesus Christ which is the Word of God.
Reply:Leading and teaching are states of mind.

Confidence is gained in knowledge that you have of the subject you have at hand.

Study.

Power and depth come from practice. Often the first few times we do something it is still being learned by ourselves.

Practice.

Each person a person teaches has their own understanding and will hear something different, sometimes quite differently from the next. A teacher needs to understand this.

Understanding.

Knowledge, depth, power, understanding are all under the power of God.

Pray
Reply:personally, i would start the class by saying... you know... that thing you don't say. i tend to have different and less traditional approaches than what a lot of churches teach, being that i'm more of a holistic, and i don't spiritualize every single passage. nor do i put limits on God's word. take the passage that says ''be His stripes we were healed.'' so many churches teach that this only applies to spiritual healing, but i say it means physical healing as well. maybe i'm like that because my faith is strong, and i truly believe that God can and wants to do anything He can for us, if we'll just give Him something to work with... i don't know. it sounds to me like you're just trying to teach church doctrine, which has many fine points, and is necessary at times, but our understanding of the bible should never ever be limited solely to what tradition teaches.
Reply:I use the inductive study approach because the most satisfying kind of study is when the participants discover the truth as they read and study together...instead of being spoon-fed or led to a particular conclusion.

The Big Book on Small Groups says, "Through the use of questions, and the careful analysis of each text in its context, inductive Bible study can be the most exciting kind of study."

I agree. It's all about spending a lot of time becoming familar with the text and then crafting some good questions, then being ready to go with the flow if something really good (but unanticipated) comes up during the study.

By the way, having really great Bible software also helps! You can do some fantastic research in advance and explain anything difficult ("what were the epicureans in Acts 17?"), provide background, etc.
Reply:I also lead %26amp; teach a bible study. I also use an expository approach. Of course there are many good resources for such an approach, for the beginner, try How to Read the Bible for All It's Worth by Fee %26amp; Gordon. For the more advanced bible teacher check out Grant Osborne's Hermeneutical Spiral. Although it seems like from your description you have been at this for awhile so you may already have library of resources you prefer.

In addition to expository teaching I find that using discussion is an effect way to engage your audience epically if your bible study is attempting to draw in "seeker". I'm not referring to the kind of discussion question that you have mentioned you don't use. "What is your opinion . . ." but one's that maybe help the audience interact with the material and see it's relevance. For example "Paul says believers ought to live one way, how does that compare to how our culture says we ought to live?" For a good book on this technique check out Mastering the Techniques of Teaching by Joseph Lowman.

Names of good Bible story movies that can be used in a preschool bible study?

I love all of the veggie tale movies--today when I am in church I will remember something I have learned by watching veggie tales with my kids--they love them!

Names of good Bible story movies that can be used in a preschool bible study?
Veggie Tales! They even have a full educational kit for 52 wks, includes lessons and a teacher guide for about 200 bucks. or, just get a single video, the kids love them.
Reply:Of all the movies that are out there, I love the Big Idea productions. I love Veggie Tales, but also have used the 3,2,1 Penguin Series. The penguin books talk about virtues that face children such as truthfulness, sharing and fairness. The Veggie Tales usually revolve around a Biblical story. We read the Bible story and then watch the Veggie Tale. Afterwords we talk about what we have learned. The Veggie Tales sometimes help the kids to learn the concept or moral of the Biblical story.
Reply:Passions of Christ. Lets not suffer the children to be ignorant of harsh realities of life.
Reply:Veggie Tales are great!
Reply:Vege-tales. It teaches bible stories, but in a way younger kids can understand.
Reply:Veggie Tales!!!!
Reply:Veggie Tales is a given....How ever what about The Book of Vertrues....these are really great videos and are important for all children.

How would I go about starting my own bible study group?

I need help with this. Should I send out brochures, take out an ad or post on church bulletin boards? How does a person start their own bible study group (excluding friends and family)? Any help would be appreciated.

How would I go about starting my own bible study group?
I advise you use lots of balloons, elephants and clowns.

Advertise in local paper and radio too.

Since I started my Yahoo Ministry, hundreds of Muslims , Pagans, and Catholics have repented their evil ways.
Reply:Hey, invite lots of ypung single people. Maybe some people could find spouses who will share a common faith.
Reply:Inform your pastor that you wish to start a bible study group consisting of whichever parameters you set. Ask him to mention it in his announcements and anyone that is interested to see you. Have him ask you to stand in case some at the church don't know you but might wish to join. Take out an add in the local paper announcing it as well if you want people outside the church to be involved. You can also go to your local Christian bookstore and they usually have a bulletin board that you can put up information on. If you want your group to be larger and even more diverse most public libraries have public bulletin boards as well. Good Luck.
Reply:I like meeting at restaurant once a week with my Christian buddies.Thats where I'd have Bible Study.
Reply:SummersNight, no disrespect here, but you are a pagan am I correct? How would it be then that you would be holding your own BIBLE study group and for what purpose would you be studying? Understand that no matter what, GOD's word will NOT return void, so even when discussed by an unbeliever, it is still possible for GOD to move through HIS word.

My intent with my answer is not to judge you, but to understand why you are thinking about the BIBLE study home group. I have read other questions where you say that you dislike the theology of the BIBLE...are you deep down inside seeking? I speak life and pray that you are under the conviction of the HOLY GHOST, and that you come to know JESUS CHRIST personally. I will pray for you, not that my will shall be imposed in your life, not that you follow after anything that a mortal man tells you, but that you come to know the TRUTH of JESUS CHRIST.

Take care of yourself, and know that you are in my prayers.
Reply:Are we ripping the bible apart? is that what you mean by study? if so, I'll join.

Jesus before the choice of the twelve, He spent a whole night in prayer.

Before the disciples left to preach to the whole world, Jesus told them to tarry in Jerusalem.

My humble opinion, pray and God by His Holy Spirit will give you guidance on how, who to approach and when to start. He may make it clear if that is the path He wants you to take.

My prayer:

Father, help your dear child to get clarity. Jesus you said, "my sheep hear my voice and a stranger they will not follow" please speak cleary to your child in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
Reply:Send out flyers. Hang notices on store walls.

Reply:"Where 2 or more gather in My name I will be there". You can do all of those things but if in your heart you feel this is right lesson, watch and never give up and God will give you a way and all that you need to do this. If it is on line sign me up.
Reply:I would talk first to your preacher about it and ask for his assistance and guidance in this. Good luck!
Reply:Start by making new friends and tell them your intentions after a few days coz when dealing with spiritual stuff, you have to be part of them and then make your way up towards your goal.
Reply:Talk to your pastor about starting the group. then they can let congregation know of times etc. You could advertise in the paper. pray as well

What are the resources you use to study the Bible and memorize scriptures?

A buddy and I want to hold each other accountable and have Bible studies once or twice a week. We would like to get the most out of our time and make our time with God very high quality. What resources or ideas do you have or use?

What are the resources you use to study the Bible and memorize scriptures?
Any Bible Study from Navigators. Almost every study they have comes with Scripture memory cards on perforated pages in the back of the study guides. Nothing but Bible verses and they are written in such a way that they are fun to discuss together in a group.
Reply:As far as just the Bible memory part of your question, I have used computer software from the following company with great success. You can print cards off, and they encourage you to have an accountability partner.

For Bible study, I would highly recommend 'Seeking Him' by Nancy Leigh DeMoss. Even though it is written by a woman, it would be appropriate for either men or women to study. It is about seeking personal revival in our relationship with the Lord. Here is a link for more information

Reply:Until we started going to bible study fellowship, I never knew how many lessons and meat were in the bible.

BSF can be found on most web searches, and is all over the US and in many other countries also now.

It is comprised of all different beliefs in the discussion groups and allows for open dialog of bible interpretation, along with a lecture leader who also ties the whole lesson for the week together.

Starting this September the study will focus on Romans, Genesis was just completed. It is a seven year study and the lessons and questions are the same , no matter what BSF study you attend.

Mens groups are more sparse than womens, but they are available, we have to drive 35 minutes to get to one that has both mens and womens studies, but it is worth it, the questions that you are given to study each week are generally very involved and thought provoking.

Check them out, their website will let you check out where the different studies are held in your area.
Reply:Go to www.watchtower.org its the official website for Jehovah's Witnesses. The material they publish are designed to help you study and understand the Bible.

*Jehovah's Witnesses are NOT members of a cult!!! They are Christians who believe that Jesus is the son of God. What makes them different is they do not celebrate holidays because they have been proven to have background in false religion. It is hard to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses because to be one, you have to obey God's law. Common things that complicate or even destroy people's lives everyday like having sex before marraige, and commiting adultery, or LOVE of money could be avoided if you simply obeyed God's law. Check out the website if you really want to understand the Bible.
Reply:Take you scriptures from the source... read them aloud to each other. over time you will remember them,

if you have a computer handy use the commentairies from Blueletterbible .org.

but all you need is a good study bible... I would use two. A scofield and a Ryrie.... also stick to two translations. the KJV and The New American Standard Bible(updated... dont bother with the NIV or NKJV.... avoid like the plague The Message bible. it is an abomination.
Reply:You have a great start - an accountability partner. Start out with genuine prayers asking that Holy Spirit reveal to you the knowledge you need to ground you in your Christian faith. Start with the book of James, followed by John, and then you will notice that Psalms is broken into books within itself - read through the first one - this gives you the foundational behaviors of a Christian, the foundation of Christ, and the foundation of praise. Each time asking God to reveal to you through the Holy Spirit what it is you are to learn - when you come up with a word one of you do not understand, look it up, see how it applies in the overall context - a good study source to use is the Amplified Version of the Bible - just to help with word expounding. Also keep a journal of the passages you read, what you learned from them, and what you didn't understand, as you won't get it all the first time! What this does is establish the habit. You will notice any time that you start with out asking the Holy Spirit to reveal the Word to you, you will be totally lost. You will also notice that prior to meeting if you either one come together with unconfessed sins, then your meeting time will not be as beneficial, that is part of holding each other accountable for the time you are investing together. It is a wondrous journey you are embarking upon and will find it greatly rewarded by God. May God bless you.
Reply:One thing we did was go throught the book or proverbs one chapter at a time. Read a few scriptures and dicuss them. You'll be amazed at how much time that will take up. Once you get started talking about the Lord time flies.

Let's start with 1Cor 10:23-24. I use the NIV in www.biblegateway.com; I also use interlinear material found in www.scripture4all.org.

I would like to recommend a simple word study in the Gospel of John, belief, believe, believer, and nonbeliever. You can use the search engine in the www.biblegateway.com.

Work on the basics and know what the passages (not out of context verses) are saying. Remember the bible interprets itself.

If you are lucky, you will have finished your education before Jesus returns.

and it is almost impossible to be one and easy to get kicked out
Reply:I suggest three things.

1 get a Ryrie Study Bible, they are very very good, and cover alot of topics, they also have history, definitions, and translations

2. Get an FCA Bible, they have many down to Earth questions to stir your brain and make you seroiusly think about the topic you are covering.

3. visit www.Bible.ca, I dont agree with everything on this website, however the people that wrote it know alot about the Bible and if you contact them they will help you study and try to answer any questions you have about the Bible.

God Bless:)+=
Reply:Just the Bible that's all you need with Gods help
Reply:I used to read the One Year Bible. Old Testament, New Testament, a little proverbs %26amp; Psalms is gone through twice. So you get a little of everything and it takes 15-30 minutes.

One year, I made sure I picked at least one verse to write in a journal. It made me appreciate and love the whole Bible. I never realized how cool the OT was (leviticus gets long, but there are nuggets hidden in it).

When you get together, you can share the verses that were significant and went along with stuff in your life. (You'll be amazed what happens) It's cool when I talk to my friends, it became part of our conversation....

You get an idea of how one verse can mean one thing to one person and not to the other. You can question whether they are reading too much into it and making the Bible fit what THEIR will is, instead of God's will.

I know this sounds confusing..

By chance, I did my daily reading in the morning. It was September 11, 2001. As I watched the planes hit the towers....I couldn't tell any of my coworkers...but I had read about it in the one year Bible....If you happen to have one...read the whole reading for September 11....it's really cool.

I have a hard time with alot of the killing in the Bible, but I understood some of the verses better on that day.

So, now that I've said all this....I've felt the conviction to delve into my One Year again. THANK YOU!! God used you in my life today!

Another thing, verses will become significant and they will be the ones you'll want to memorize. It will change your life and your relationship with God.
Reply:I suggest you find a website according to your beliefs (denomination) that has online services (not live neccesarily they have arcchives and you can choose) watch it together taking notes and with your Bibles of course and exchange ideas afterwards. If you told me what denomination or group you feel you belong to maybe I could be more specific.

Another source is Beth Moore Bible studies they are really good and I know different denominations use it.

I love this site: http://www.creationevidence.org learn scientific facts that prove creation, the flood, dinasours in the Bible, dinosaurs and man lived together (Yes!! awesome fossils) Model of the earth 6000 years ago etc.

http://www.TBN.org is another option they have christian movies you can watch online and their Praise the Lord shows of the month.

If any of you are registered with netflix they have a bunch of christian movies and series you could watch together.

Get some tapes from your favorite preacher from their website

Start reading a book of Bible (some chapters at a time or one as homework take notes using a concordance get together and discuss it, I find a lot of new insight everytime I do it on my own how much more if you two do it together.

Book club: Choose a book and do the same: Classics like Lewis, Spurgeon, maybe even Josephus the Historian.

I like Kenneth Copeland's site , very organized easy acces, tons of video archives, they're daily broadcast, conferences etc. you can even download them for free no hassle no registration etc. http://www.kcm.org

Hope this helps

If someone in your bible study is pregnant, would you give them a small gift when their baby is born?

This woman is in my bible study group and I have only known her for a few months, and I wondered if I should be giving her a small gift (such as booties or a bib or something for her baby) when the baby is born, or just leave it and say congratulations?

If someone in your bible study is pregnant, would you give them a small gift when their baby is born?
I would think that it isn't expected by any means but if you like her or if it is just 'you' to give a gift then feel free...but I wouldn't go overboard or she might be uncomfortable with it. New babies are always a good reason to give gifts and unlike birthdays that come every year they only come once in a while (for most people anyway), so they are kind of a different situation.
Reply:Maybe a card with a simple verse regarding the gifts or joys of children would be sufficient. Or maybe the whole group would like to go together and get her a gift of practicalitly or a Bible for her newborn with its name on it - that is one we often do in our group.
Reply:I would assume that since she's in your study, that you care about her. Wouldn't you give someone you care about a gift when something that important happens in their life (no matter how long you've been a part of that life)? Even better, continue to give to/serve her as the child is growing up - she'll need all the help she can get. Not because you need to show her that Christians are/should be good people, not because it'll make you/her feel good and make both of you better believers, but because 1) you're obeying His word (on giving, on serving, on encouraging), and so 2) it's a great way to glorify Him. The other stuff just happens as a result of that.
Reply:I would givwe her a little something nothing real pricey it is just a gesture
Reply:well you ar enot obliged but if you want to be a blessing for this woman %26amp; her baby then God Bless you!
Reply:I would probably give her something small, but nice of course

What about a Baby's First Bible, you can get nice little ones ???
Reply:yes if your friendley.
Reply:it's always nice to give someone a gift. it doesn't matter if you know them well or not. it's the act of giving that shows how you care.
Reply:sure you can, if you're close, if not you can simply give her a card, or tell her congrats.
Reply:If you want to, you should. Don't feel obliged but I am sure she will appreciate the gesture. Maybe you could have a whip round and get something really nice from the whole group. May I suggest that you get something for HER rather than the baby. Loads of people will get baby things. I certainly appreciated having a small gift for myself. It's like baby overload and it was so nice that someone remembered me! I also had a basket of useful bits, things like cotton wool, soap, baby bath, etc. which I really appreciated. That was a gift from a group I attended.
Reply:Yes that would be a lovely thing to do thanks
Reply:i'd give her something. that's very nice. wouldn't you appreciate it if she did the same thing for you? she's in your bible study group...doesn't religious studying encourage things like being attentive and kind to neighbours and lending a helping hand? come on...
Reply:i would give a small gift or maybe bring them pizza or a box of chicken one night for dinner so they didnt have to worry about cooking with everything else going on
Reply:Ask her if she needs anything, and be willing, eager, and glad to help, for that is the Christian way, not giving of gifts which may or may not be wanted.
Reply:usually people give a small gift for the baby yes , even if they hadnt know them long its just a courtesy.

actually my grandmother had given someone someone at our bible study a small gift for the mother , it was a basket with a small box of tea and some chocolates with a lil card that had some good words of advice to the mother. :) it is fairly cheap but it is appreciated by the parents. hope this helps.
Reply:Oh, give her a little gift. Having a baby is a big deal.
Reply:Do what moves you. Otherwise why are you even studying the Bible?
Reply:If it is in your nature to want to give to others, regarless of how long you've known them for then go for it.

I love to give things to people, no matter how long I've known them, I've been working in this place now for 8mth or so and one of my co - workers is pregnant, anyway I don't know her too well, but still I wanted to get her something, so I bought her a small baby photo album, she loved it and says she can't wait to use it.

Go for it get her something, It will make both of you feel good.....
Reply:why not if it won't cost u a lot :]
Reply:BIBLE STUDY?!!??! HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH.
Reply:You can give her a gift when her baby is born. There is nothing wrong with that. If she were to ask you to take her to an abortion clinic then you would be wrong. If she is single and not married if that's what you are getting at that is between her and God he knows how to convict and when people try its called condemn. What would the God of Love have you do.I wasn't clear on the realtion to the girl in your Bible Study being pregnant. What does that mean to you??
Reply:a simple card with a beautiful message would just be perfect. =)
Reply:I would say if you are happy for her you can buy a cheap but useful gift, but you are definitely not obligated
Reply:give her something and let her feel welcomed or as a token to tell her that u care about her.

I think that in a bible study group, we all should take care each other.
Reply:You should wait until after it is born, she will be busy while the baby is being born. Duh!
Reply:Yes, of course!
Reply:it depends on what kind of relationship you have with this person or ask other people in your bible study group what their going to do. me personally even if i don't get on with her quite well i will i would get her something even if it's small
Reply:its whatever you feel is right now since your in bible study god would probably say do whats is right. your not being mean, and you dont have to do what you dont want to do.But if i were god i'll tell you to do what is in your heart. youll be blessed no matter what
Reply:please do!it will even increase your bond of friendship!
Reply:A gift would be nice. But you dont have to. If you go to a baby shower you should give a gift. Give a family Bible with the kids name on the cover.
Reply:a chasity belt? ha ha, just kidding

How can i Study a Bible Abroad?

I want to study a Bible abroad. But I dont have money for that, I need someone to sponsor me. I wish if there is anyone who can sponsor me

How can i Study a Bible Abroad?
Some churches have programs for international members. Contact your church and see if there are any study abroad opportunities. Also, if you want to study Theology, there are graduate programs that may offer you an assistantship or fellowship to study with them. Do some research and good luck!

What is a good bible study to grow closer to God?

As a Christian, can you recommend a good bible study that would help a group grow closer to God? Maybe something that emphasizes the spiritual displicines.

What is a good bible study to grow closer to God?
Charles Stanley- A Spirit Filled Life

VERY GOOD!
Reply:You are on the right track. However, it is unfortunate that flesh and blood is naturally incapable of spiritual discipline. I shall substantiate. The Bible says in Romans 7:14, "We know that the law is spiritual, but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin." In effect, the Bible says: "Clearly no one is justified before GOD by the law, because 'The righteous shall live by faith.' " Galatians 3:11. "For if a law had been given that could impart (eternal) life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law." Galatians 3:21. The Bible says in Philippians 3:6 that a Pharisee is faultless regarding obedience to the law. The teaching of Jesus Christ however is: "For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of GOD." Matthew 5:20. What we need then is the righteousness of GOD.

You are in your present situation because Christian practice has moved away from the teaching of Jesus Christ. He gives us these guidelines in this specific order: Repent. Believe. Confirm the New Covenant. Matthew 26:17-30. Baptise. Matthew 28:16-20. The promise of GOD to save us is in the New Covenant. Baptism unites one with Jesus Christ in His death and resurrection. Romans 6:3-10; Galatians 3:27; Colossians 2:12. The force that does this is in the promise of GOD. Confirming the New Covenant after baptism puts baptism in a position of complete disability.

I will now outline the purpose of the Mission of Jesus Christ. Adam died or was banished from spiritual life with GOD in the Garden of Eden in Paradise where eternal life is possible. The purpose of the Mission of Jesus Christ is to bring man back to spiritual life with GOD. He resurrected in order to bring this about. Our spirit would resurrect with Jesus Christ only if our baptism is in order. Then we are born of water and reconciled with GOD. Our sins are forgiven. Our spirit can then be born of Spirit, John 3:3-6, and be led to do the will of GOD and have the righteousness of GOD by faith. If this happens, you do not have to struggle with any law or seek spiritual discipline. It is as simple as that. But alas, Christians have rejected that. They give their lives to Christ and claim that they are born again. Where is that written in the Bible, I wonder?

The flesh does not need salvation because it cannot live eternally. 1 Corinthians 15:50. So, why the bother?
Reply:I would suggest that you try to understand it for yourself, without it being filtered through 2,000 years of dogma or the personal opinions, paradigms and theories of others. I have always endeavoured to find my own understanding of the Bible.

Just browse the store. There are audio tape/cds to go with many of the study guides.

Reply:Honestly I think the true way to grow closer to God is to know his heart. Study your Bible on the heart of God. You only grow closer by understanding his heart.

My favorite prayer has been the Jabez prayer: 1 Chron 4:9

Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother called his name *Jabez, saying, "Because I bore him in pain." 10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, "Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!" So God granted him what he requested.

God wants to grant all you desire. Know his heart, ask and you shall receive.

I know this wasn't a study that you were looking for, but I really feel you need to know him before you can get closer. Its not religion, or school, its personal and reading the Bible and praying is the only way. So kudos to you, asking on such a forum.

God Bless

Reply:I have found "Thru the Bible", on the radio with Dr. J. Vernon McGee to be extremely helpful to me in understand the Bible. He goes through the entire Bible in 5 yrs. He does a book in the OT and then goes to the NT. You can get his notes and outlines by going to his website at ttb.org Dr. McGee, has passed away but he said before he passed that as long as folks supported the program it would stay on the air. It is a world wide ministry now and is going strong. Check it out, you will not be disappointed. By the way I am not related to him, it has just been such a blessing to my walk with Christ. God Bless to you and your study group.

Reply:The best way to grow closer to God is to close your Bible and go outside. Observe nature, for that is where God lives.

You will learn everything you need to know.
Reply:The Bible itself should be the primary source. Whenever using an aditional help, remember that it is just that, something to HELP, and to check with the Bible.

"A purpose driven life" seems good to most denominations, and is Ok in its basic principles.
Reply:there are so many but i recomand THE WALK OF REPENTANCE by STEVE GALLAGHER he was a sinner who got saved but was still struggling with sex adiction porn and stuff then he started studing on it and soon or later he had conquried it and wrote the lesson i teaches you to become stronger in the faith as well as how you can study more effectivly
Reply:Letter to a Christian Nation
Reply:yeah, it's a book called "the god delusion"
Reply:the bible has nothing to do with a god.

it is a cult myth. why not go study a REAL history book and LEARN something?
Reply:The one where Moses kills the 12 apostles with an ak-47. Then Jesus drowns him in the Red Sea as revenge.
Reply:Go to a local Catholic monastery and live with the monks for a month. Go to prayer and listen to the Holy Scripture 5-7 times a day. Go to Mass. Learn the art of Lectio Divina. It will open Holy Scripture to you like never before.
Reply:Read the gnostic gospels. The catholic church had a giant motive to alter the true message of Jesus. Jesus was about enlightenment, not salvation.

Teach them what you know and, already understand.
Reply:Hi. You may laugh at this considering how people in general view us, as Jehovah's Witnesses, but honestly, you could not find a better study aid as our publications!

Many are used specifically for this purpose. Also, we have many accounts of students getting top marks because they chose to study either the Watchtower or Awake or numerous of the other books.

Please, give it a try; have an open mind. You will be pleasantly surprised.

At the Saturday night bible study some kids got caught doing things on each other?

We we just finishing with the bible study when Rachel dared Kim to do oral on a couple of the guys in the bible study. The associate pastor showed-up. Everyone freaked out, but he said he wouldn't tell the parents if they let him watch. So he bought some wine coolers for us. But Jason's brother (a cop) found the some wine coolers in his back pack. Now he says he's going to have him arrested. My dad is the Pastor, and I'm afraid he's going to freak out when he finds out. What should I do?

At the Saturday night bible study some kids got caught doing things on each other?
Can you blame your dad? He's responsible for the church. This Associate Pastor is no christian and a pervert and should be arrested. I imagine by the time the media and all the other parents are done with this it's going to be a real big deal! I'm going to pray for your dad.
Reply:You should call up the girl who gave the oral and see if you can take her out before the sh#t hits the fan, or send me her number.
Reply:Uhhh...
Reply:That's a pretty tough break, man, but that associate pastor's probably going to have to face the music on that one. Supplying alcohol to a minor or whatever.

Just don't bring up the oral part - just say you were "hanging out" or something and conveniently omit the parts your dad will flip out about. It might not come up.
Reply:I suggest that you investigate one very basic idea....

Contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

At the very least.

Anyone know some good Christian Bible study books for teenage girls?

I teach a class for girls ages 12-18, and I need some good study books. I have found a few devotion books, but most of them aren't long enough lessons.

Anyone know some good Christian Bible study books for teenage girls?
Is there a Christian bookstore in your area go there and see what they have. Some cities have at least one or two Christian bookstores. Also why not talk to your youth group leader and see if they know of any Christian devotion books for young teenage girls. Here are some Christian websites on the internet you might want to look up.

http://www.christiananswers.net/ , http://www.seekgod.org/teen/,

http://www.christiantopsites.com/search/... and if you want to get more web just google. Christian Teen Devotions web sites and you find a lot more interesting sites and chat rooms just for you.
Reply:There are many good Christian material for young , such as books from Focus On The Family, Joyce Meyer, or stay tuned to your local tv.
Reply:If you go on the web site Catholic, or Some Christian non-denomination sites, you can find some great books especially foe females/girls. I found a subject that related to art/female. The study of the "Marion Symbols" make for a very interesting subject, It is amazing that Mary was painted by Master Renaissance Artist. But Mary did not become dogma with thee church until the mid 1800's. etc. This is just one idea.
Reply:I don't know exactly what you are looking for, but Elizabeth George has three wonderful books out: A Young Woman After God's Own Heart, A Young Woman's Call to Prayer, and A Young Woman's Walk with God. They are excellent. If you want more of an actual Bible study, you might be able to use her A Woman After God's Own Heart Bible study series. There is one on Sarah, one on Mary, one on Esther, and several book studies, including the Proverbs 31 woman.

I would like bible study using the kings james version of the bible.

I would like to read a chapter a day based on the catholic religion.

Do you know of a good site or perhaps a website that offers emails to your inbox with a chapter a day to read.

I would like to pray to god.

I am lost.

Please help me.

If u want to link me to sites that would be great thanks.

I would like bible study using the kings james version of the bible.?
Oh, the best way to study the King James Bible is to read it and pray for God to show you something out of it.

You said you are lost. The only way you can seriously study the Bible and understand it is if you get saved, so I will recommend a site that will show you how to get saved.

http://www.chick.com

I know someone who got saved after reading that site. The first prayer you need to pray is for salvation.

I don't know of a website that offers emails with a chapter a day to read, but there is a forum that has a Bible-reading thread and they have some kind of plan. http://xsorbit29.com/users5/fundamentalb...

as far as reading the King James Bible based on the catholic religion...it's not possible. the KJV is in complete opposition to catholicism.....
Reply:lol, uh, that bible has had books removed by protestants, if you are studying any aspect of Catholicism, I suggest a bible that has been more accurately translated into english, the Duoay Riems bible was translated from the original bible ( the latin Vulgate), and later on revisions were made from the texts the Vulgate itself was translated from, these other bibles have been altered in some way or another, most protestants have the version of the bible with removed books, these books were removed by Martin Luther (first protestant leader 1517), he removed them because they conflicted with his teachings(I thought the bible was supposed to be God's teachings, lol), some good sites? these sites have alot of info, and I strongly suggest protestants to take a look at these

We do a craft every week for about 30-40 minutes at the end of class and we are running out of ideas! We have done things like making bracelets, cards, painting little pots, coasters etc.....Any ideas??

Any ideas for a half hour craft during a bible study?
The God's eye idea is a great answer.

I've included some links to different sites that have bible-themed crafts...hope it helps :)
Reply:everyone one bring a size j crochet hook and a thing of nice colored yarn (pastel) everyone makes a square.

5x5 or 8x8, etc. and save the squares. when there is X number of, hook together as a quilt, lap blanket, baby blanket, as a gift from the bible study group.
Reply:You are doing bible study, why not do God's Eyes? You take to popsicle sticks, cross them, tie some yarn across the center of the cross %26amp; wrap the sticks as you go around the circle. Just make sure you wrap around the stick each time before moving on to the next one. If you only wrap in one direction, it will make a nice design. If you do one direction for a while, turn %26amp; do the other %26amp; then turn back it will make a 3D design which is much more interesting. Using multicolored yarn makes this more interesting for younger kids. Using multiple different yarns will make it more interesting for older kids as well as reinforcing the aspects of sharing Have fun
Reply:Simple stitch for note book cover. This could be finish by 2 X 30 minutes.

If people keep coming every week, may Embroidery a cushion, and follow step by step evey week, could be finish in 8 weeks, could be finish in a month if quick.

Thank You.
