they are teenage girls around age 14 and 15 and i have a few options. my options are how to say no in tough situations, the Barbie Doll Syndrom (eating disorders), purity, the power and impact of Christian friends, what makes a hero or talk about suicide/homicide? which should i do? we are all strong Christians and very mature so any of the would work.
What should I do for a Bible Study Lesson?
For eating disorders, talk about the solid facts about what these things can do to you, mentally, physically, socially AND spiritually. For purity, talk about what it means to be pure. Walk how Jesus did, walk in purity. For saying no in tough situations, talk about the consequences of saying yes, again mentally, pysically, socially and spiritually.
Building strong Christian friendships is important. In times of struggle, you need somebody you can talk to that you trust. If you have no friends, you are isolated from society, in fact, my church has been talking about this sort of thing for the past few weeks.
I'm afraid I don't understand your last question though, but good luck with the lesson.
God Bless
Andrew

You do error in your understanding, but have only taken part of the text. God sent many times prophets to try to change their ways. God does not destroy without first warning them to turn from their evil ways, it is only whey they refuse are they fit for destruction. The entire passage you wrote above is a WARNING to Ethiopia, which by the way they did not hearken unto to.
If i warn my son, if he ever gets into a van again not knowing the people in the van, i will whip his butt. Guess what, if he does it again, i will in fact do what i said and whip his butt. God in a like manner warned them over and over again, sent them prophets and many times tried to draw them near to Him, and they refused to hearken unto the Almighty God of the Universe, for their selfish pleasures that they were unwilling to give up, therefore God did what He said He would do, this makes Him a JUST GOD.
If a Judge says to a criminal the next time you come into my court for this offence, i will put you into prison. and Lo, then next time, that Judge did in fact exactly what He said he would do, and put him into prison. Of course you will have some people say " That judge is mean, too harsh, lacks compassion " But regardless of what idiots say, the judge was just because he warned him, and he did what he said he would do, if he saw him again.
So you, my friend ask " Christians, Is this what you call love? Are you crazy? " i would have to say " YES ", it would only not have been Love, if he did not warn them at all, or never tried to get them to change from their ways, then it would not have been Love. So my answer is YES it was love, and He is Just and did what He said He would do, if they would not change.
In His Holy and Precious Name, Jesus Christ

Reply:Purity sounds like a good one...well, they all sound like neat topics, but purity seems like a good place to start. With the way the world is going and all that is on the media sometimes the pressures of conforming can be hard. But purity is so important, and doing a study about the importance of purity and being able to hold each other accountable and support each other would be awesome!
Reply:what are you asking?
Reply:You sure have alot of ideas!..... how about a study of the Bible?
Reply:Watch the Simpson's and visit a Unitarian service.
Reply:wow. 14 and 15 year old girls. tough age group. i would go with either barbie doll syndrome or purity. personally i would probably go with purity since i'm very passionate about that subject. if it's going to be like a series i would recommend using the book And The Bride Wore White. it's an awesome book that really hits base on the topic of purity.
Reply:Forget the Bible. These girls should be playing sports.
Reply:how to say no in tough situations - this is something that all people face at some time or another so it would be relevant to all the girls in the class
Reply:Teenagers at that age are facing tremendous pressure to look alike, act alike, and do what everyone else is doing. If you can give them a Scriptural example of a Godly woman, that will inspire them to follow that example.
Reply:i think u should try to teach the people that all people are created equal in gods eyes as so many people forget
Reply:Read the Book Of RUTH
Reply:How about preparing those girls for the world OUTSIDE religions? How about acknowleging that they ARE interested in sex, and curious about it, and that they ARE sooner or later going to overcome the overwhelming manipulation of the church and they're going to try sex? And how about preparing them for that, not by saying don't do it, but by saying if you do it, this is how you can prevent catching aids or getting pregnant? How about being real?
Sorry, this isn't personal against you, but this is where you CAN make a real difference, not bearing in mind these girls' possible future life in heaven, but bearing in mind their certain (and more immediate) future life on the earth...
Reply:Do all. Write each of the situations you mentioned on a separate 3x5 card. Divide them in groups. Ask them how they arrived at that answer using the Bible as a resource.
Reply:Go to this site, ask for a free Bible study.

Reply:Why don't you try asking them what they would like to study? Or if there's not time for that, I would recommend the 'Christian friends' topic. Since you're all going to be there together that should be applicable to all, and some of the other ones sound like issues stronger, mature Christians shouldn't have much of a problem with.
Reply:Have you studied the story of Esther?
Reply:Christian friends because in high school, which they are in, it's really important to set your values and have people with the same values that support you. Although I am guy, this is what I did/doing and it really works. Although it's not wrong to be friends with other people, it's good to have a christian base with people that will always look out for you.
Reply:I would do the Barbie Doll Syndrome because now and days more and more girls are way to intrested in looking like celebrities who are to thin.
Reply:The greatest lesson any parent can teach the children is the reason why we are here on this Earth, We are born to gain knowledge, experience life, and discover the truth of God in our own way, We will be here only for a short time and everything we do will matter so live life to its fullest and Cherish the opportunities that we have been given and give thanks.
