How do I start a Women's Bible Study?

I am considering beginning a Women's Bible Study once per week held at my home, or maybe, in some kind of a rotation between the women who attend, at their homes, respectively.

My church does not have many parish groups or activities outside of the mass, except for young children. There are few local parishes in our area, and all of them experience the same problem.

What would be the best way to get this group started? Does anyone have any tips or pointers on leading or hosting a successful Bible study?

Many thanks, and God bless.

I commend you for this! As a new believer, a woman in my neighborhood began a Bible study and I was very much impacted as a new believer. It helped me so much!

You could offer a Beth Moore study........they have a video with them and a workbook. Many churches will loan you the videos and the workbooks are about $15. each.

I know a group of young women who meet at McDonalds and let the preschoolers play while they study. It works well with tiny ones!

My friend just sent out a letter to women in the neighborhood and told us what she was doing and said to be at her house at this date to discuss what we wanted to do.................. you could ask people at your church, etc.

Just do it! And don't forget to pray for each other!
Reply:First, start talking to other women to see if they are interested. Tell them what you want to do. Many women would probably jump at the chance to get away from the weekly hum drum stuff so that they can spend some time with other women. Find something common. If most of these women have children out of school you might consider this a bible study and play group. Be attentive to schedules as everyone always has too much to do and not enough time to do it.
Reply:Bless you! I have hosted many studies in my own home for years. Pick a day - Thursday is most convenient for many of us. Then pick a time - we meet after work - my home - around 5ish. Used to be earlier because a lot of us get out of work around 2:30pm. Keep to about a two hour meeting time. Pick a study. There are so many good studies. If you're not used to hosting studies, might want to start out with a Beth Moore Study. Great teacher. Web site is below. You will be immersed in the word every day with homework lasting about a half an hour. Encourage everyone to try to finish, but if they don't, encourage everyone to attend. Beth offers 45 to 55 minute DVDs and anywhere from 8 to 10 week studies. Most of all, don't gossip! When you get a room full of women together, it's your job as the facilitator to stay on task. Allow some time to say hello and get acquainted, then jump in. Introduce house rules - where the restroom is, snacks on the table (if you have them), bring their Bibles and plan to participate. Pray before and after each meeting. We rotate prayer givers at mine. That way we each get comfortable with praying aloud. I'm so excited for you. If you need further help - please feel free to email me at kschaney@hotmail.com

When you buy her studies - you can either ask the church to invest their money in the kit OR you can ask the ladies if they'd all like to pitch in for it. They're around $199 each plus about $17 per workbook. I have to tell you that I have learned so much through her teachings. It's just been incredible.
Reply:first find a lot of women that have no self respect that believe men are superior and that the all knowing all powerful god is a male ...and messiahs are male...and it was a woman(eve) who messed it up for all people
