I am just starting a women's bible study next year for incoming freshman girls, some new to faith and some that have been in their walk for awhile. I guess I'm unsure as to what book in the bible would be empowering and moving to use as our first few bible study sessions....... THANKS!
What would be a good book in the bible to have a women's bible study on?
the Gospel of John is a good place to start. The gospel is not for women or men inparticular, but for all, irrespective of their sex. I assume thatr you want to lay a god Bilbical foundation in the lives of these girls. |Praise God for that! May you be blessed for ever.
So, rather seek the Spirit in prayer and ask Him what it is that He wants to impart in them. Remember Jesus is the Head of HIs Church and He has called this Bible Study into beig. So seek Him and Spirit will definetly lead you towat God wants!
May God bless you and this group of girls and may He sanctify you through and through and keep your spirit, soul and body blameless at the coming of Jesus, |our LORD and Saviour!!!!

Reply:For a good "book" to have Bible Study for women, try this free book, 101 Women in the Bible: Bible Scriptures and Biblical Lessons. This book is full of scriptures from the Bible on Women:

Reply:I offer you read The Quran (Muslims book) to learn what is the respect and position of a woman should be.
Reply:If you look up calvarychapel.org, they have a women's ministry (Joyful Life) and a link to past studies. One of them was "Women of the Bible"....we did it and it was awesome. Bless you!
Reply:I have Always loved how the Gospel of John showed those that did not really know Christ His love and True fair Righteous.
How the world began is a very important subject for those Subject to attack by those of the wild world
How the Gospel came to us as Gentiles is a very important This means The book of Acts
This is a very Difficult Question to answer,. it (the answer) really is
What do they personly need why not start with some Qwizing Look at where they are on a personal level.
Reply:Romans or Ephesians are encouraging reads for both parties.
Reply:Ruth would be a good place to start.
Reply:I think the story of Esther is a great one. There is even a movie on DVD called "One Night With the King" that would be good to watch to bring the story to life.
Reply:Just a few suggestions:
Esther - the Queen of Empowerment
Ruth - Loyal, faithful, respectable
James - Not too long, and powerful message
Proverbs - Help the freshmen analyze character
Psalms - Morning, noon and night.
Anywhere you start is good.
Have fun,
Earf!
Reply:Song of Solomon. Keep a bucket of cold water handy, it can get fairly racy. But it would serve as an excellent book for discussing love, passion, and how to have a godly relationship. (I think learning what a good, loving relationship looks like is important for girls at that age).
There's my $0.02
Reply:Start with Eve. What was God's purpose in creating her? What was God's purpose creating woman? What may have happened if she did not sin, How would women's lives be different? How did Christ provide for women? How is she justified and sanctified? There is lots of things to study and relate to through the women of the bible.
