If a bible study goes over 12 people, towards 20-30 is that good?

it feels like it's a mini church when it's 20-30 people there. Maybe God is using the bible study leader to train him up for bigger things there? I feel like it lost it's intimacy when it grew past 15.

As a counselor, I find that groups of more then ten usually allow some to "sit out" participation. I would hope that all in your Bible study are there because they want to be. Be honest with yourself, do you feel this way because, maybe, you feel you aren't getting the personal attention you did when the group was smaller? Just asking, as I see that happen a lot. Trust God. He will lead your group to where it should go.

Reply:Excellent.
Reply:Have large group presentation first. Then break up into smaller groups to discuss. Rotate the small groups every now and then to encourage different views.

If you are referring to a home group, we usually keep it small. Always room to have another leader start up a new group when numbers grow.
Reply:Yes, I agree with you. It seems to be easier to learn in a smaller group where everyone can be more verbal. We attend a small group study or life group and we enjoy the smaller group. When we get too large then, we split and make a new group.
Reply:Even 2 people is good. For the Bible says whenever 2 or 3 are gathered, He'll be there.
Reply:There is home fellowship and church leadership. Don't confuse the two. A larger body needs more generic, edible 'milk', as opposed to the more nutritious 'meat' that a home study can provide, due to being able to question and counter.
Reply:That all depends.

Maybe you could do more for the group, like be a leader.

Trust me that adds to intimacy greatly.

how old are the members. If there is a clear age discrepancy, then maybe have a class for older/younger members.
Reply:Talk about the rules with the people. When do you divide and who volunteers to host it etc?
